
Denis earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from California State University, Fresno in 1983. The following year, he completed a six-month post-graduate certification in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) at the Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center in Vallejo.
From 1985 to 1988, Denis served as an instructor in the PNF Residency Program before pursuing advanced studies abroad. In 1988, he earned a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Manipulative Therapy from the University of South Australia. He later received his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification in 1994 and returned to the University of South Australia in 1997 to complete a Master's in Applied Science in Physiotherapy.
Since 1991, Denis has been a faculty member of the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Orthopedic Fellowship Program in Manual Therapy and Spine. He has taught numerous Manual Therapy and PNF courses across the United States, Australia, and Europe. Denis is a full Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and most recently joined the faculty of the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (www.noigroup.com), where he teaches courses throughout the U.S.
Outside of his professional work, Denis enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Susan, and their two children, Shannon and Thomas. He also enjoys cycling, surfing and hiking in the Eastern Sierras.
